Mise en Scene;
1970s style, everything is in bright colours (red bus, clothing)
Fashion is big with bright clothing, leather, long or abstract hair, bandanners, sun glasses.
Make up on boys and girls more on boys. Boys with pale faces and eye liner. Girls with red lip stick.
Music is massive following beatles. Smoking is big.
Retro feel with vespas and style of cars.
Mention of religion and Catholic believes through the whole country going to see the Pope.
Sound;
Typical irish folk music at start with simple instruments.
U2 songs used in background over cut with dialogue. Goes upbeat and fast with the music playing.
Irish accent used by actors through dialect which can be hard to understand characters but done on purpose to create regional struggle for identity.
Rowdy crowd and swearing used to show the violence of the 1970s post war, people are still angry, tensions of religion between Ireland and N.Ireland still felt.
Camera Angles;
Two shot to show both brothers and show how they do hate each other but they are still blood.
Over the sholider to show communication between the actors.
Scearny shot to show the selling point of Ireland and its beauty.
Looking down at hands playing guitar to show musical refrence and importance of the time.
Pan of the crowd to show rowdy behavouir throughout and the vast amount of people there.
Close up used to highlight make up on boys which is not in our culture in modern day and to shwo facial expressions being portrayed by each character.
Editing;
Zooming in on the band playing ata gig with slant to show paparazzi affect of the world watching them and focussing on them portraying how successful they have become.
Fast transaction of shots shows how the band and the world is moving fast at this time and trends come and go and this behavouir is seen throughout the film in style where make up becomes a trend, fashion as more people start to where leather and tight fitted jeans and in the trailer through transction of shots in a short time. Reflects the fast pace of the 70s highlighted as the fast growing century where industries were growing rapidly and so were tensions between different religions and cultures as well a spolitical groups which are all reflected with the fast transaction between shots.
Poster; (1 min 40 sec in film)
Colours used are wide range of contrasting and bright colours relevant to the time period of the 70s. The poster its self is a poster with in a poster and has a pasted on a wall affect which is typical of its time and keeps to the retro time period affect. The poster seems unorganized with a rough folded look and relates to the posters they would use as a marketing campaign to promote their up and coming gigs. The border line on the posters inside the actual poster help highlight the title and the other posters around the outside of the main poster all have vital information regardings when the film will be made avaliable in cinemas and states the main actors all of which are too highlighted to state their own indidiual information.
Magazine cover;
The magazine has a white, orange and black theme colour throught the front cover through the text and blocking boxes which is a typical trait of magazines keeping to simple constrating colours.
The front cover has other typical traits like the masthead in the top left corner with the barcode placed differently to other magazine on its side. The masthead is bold yet uses no capital letters as the font size is bold enough to be acknowledged.
The main text is all uneven and white with boxed black background to make the main information on the cover to stand out on the page.
The image on the front cover keeps to the retro feel of the 70s fashion and attitude. The models are in a rock star pose relating to the rock band in the film. There clothes contrast the colour scheme of the magazine and the layout my overlapping the masthead on the image which is also seen a lot in the magazine industrey by all genres of magazines.
The other information at the bottom of the front cover is in large writing in white with orange background and have different fonts and sizes used throughout yet the formal style approach contrasts the retro magazine look.

Meeting 1
Members present: Beth, Lewis
The Agenda: Deciding genre and audience
Items discussed;
The original ideas we came up with was a "shameless style" drama about the lower deprived areas of society in a drama. We felt this was easier to construct with the resources avaliable to us and feel we could cast and direct this idea to be succesful. We thought by being teenagers we could cast this play with teenagers and take a teenagers view of the world by manipulating the audiences thoughts and feelings of the film by only showing the one view and as being teenagers we could construct this idea well.
Secondly, we looked a doing a religious romantic love story between to different religions coming together. Again we looked at doing this via teenagers and aim this at teenagers. We felt this tho to be an adult and mature topic that might not fit into the target audience of teenagers. Being part of a catholic school we have avaliable the resources suitable to produce this idea.
Finally, are last idea looked at a long distance relationship as a thriller. This relationship takes place over the internet via a social networking site where a friendship turns to a romance which entales a twist. We think this would be the most realistic and realtable idea for our generation who experienced the uprise and evolution of the social networking sites.
No desisions and been reached due to the lack of members at the meeting.
Proposed items for next meeting: Discuss story line, poster layout, magazine cover designs and film title
